Cameron Nickerson - THE WAGON Album Release Tour
Sat, Apr 25 • 8 pm • Doors at 7:30
$20; $25 at the door
With special guest Haig Beylerian
One of Atlantic Canada’s most compelling voices in modern bluegrass and country, Cameron Nickerson, returns to the stage at The Old Confidence Lodge in Riverport Nova Scotia for the official album release of “The Wagon“.
Rooted in traditional storytelling but driven by a contemporary edge, The Wagon captures Nickerson’s lived-in songwriting, rich harmonies, and road-worn charm — songs about movement and a hard fought journey to sobriety. Known for high-energy live performances and an easy rapport with audiences, Cameron’s shows balance tight musicianship with honest storytelling that keeps rooms leaning in.
The night also features a special guest set from Haig Beylerian, multi-instrumentalist, composer and beloved “Diggin’ Up Grubs” guitar player. Together, the bill promises a night of electrifying songs, powerful performances, and a celebration of Atlantic Canada’s thriving country-bluegrass music scene.

$25; $15 for Ages 18 & Under
Gina Burgess is a genre-bending violinist and composer from Kjipuktuk / Halifax. She is well-known for her virtuosic work with the hot swing outfit Gypsophilia (NS), and the Juno nominated folk-rock band The Jerry Cans (Iqaluit). Her 2024 debut solo release “ISNOW” was met with wide acclaim, and won an East Coast Music Award for Fusion Recording of The Year.
Gina’s performances feature an all-star 5-piece band, combining her violin with contemporary Inuit throat singing, drum kit, double bass, and Brazilian percussion in a wildly unique cross-cultural fusion. Her original music draws inspiration from minimalism, folk and improvised music and her shows are a heartfelt, hypnotizing and engaging experience.
Silent Film with Live Score: Metropolis
Sun, May 24 • 2 pm • Doors at 1:30
$20; $12 for Ages 10-18
Andrew MacKelvie - saxophones, synth
Andrew Jackson - trombone + effects
Ellen Gibling - harp
Gabriella Ciurcovich - bass
Doug Cameron - drums
Fritz Lang's German expressionist science fiction masterpiece, Metropolis, with a live improvised score. In a techno-future where the world is starkly divided between the elite and the workers, John Fredersen, a wealthy magnate uses unseemly methods to crush a worker uprising led by the charismatic Maria... who also happens to be the object of desire for his son Feder. Abstract set design, incredible practical effects, and hundreds of extras make Metropolis a dizzying and alluring retro view of the future. Accompanied by some of Halifax's most intriguing musicians and improvisers, this matinee screening of a classic film is not to be missed.

PRECIPICE - FILM SCREENING
Sat, Nov 22 • 2 pm • Doors at 1:30
$20
“On Nova Scotia’s South Shore, where fishing once shaped the communities, new pressures are shifting the landscape. Precipice points the lens at Rose Bay, and up-river, tracing the fragile edge between memory and disappearance, as working-class lives are recast against rising seas and fancy coastal development. Echoes of old home movies, Mi’kmaq tales and present-day restoration (including oyster farming, wetland preservation, woodlot care) interweave into a portrait of resilience. The film, evoking the tone and pace of Brett Story’s The Hottest August (2019) focuses on the intersection between climate change and a community's response to this global emergency.” —WForsyth (Director Lunenburg Doc Fest)
