Fresh off the release of his sixth studio album IN REVERSE, Chris brings his unmistakable voice, intimate piano songs, and deeply felt songwriting to two beautiful rooms — marking his first Canadian shows in over 10 years.

Chris first emerged from the New York music scene with Music for Tourists, gaining international attention. Since then, he’s toured across North America, Europe, Asia, and Brazil, sharing stages with Xiu Xiu, José González, and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Live, Garneau’s songs pull you in close — tender, haunting, and quietly electric. For anyone drawn to songs that linger long after the room goes quiet.

Jack Pine; Tea & Scones Concert

TICKETS

Mon, Sept 7 • 2 pm • Doors at 1:30
$30 for ground floor seating & scones; $15 for balcony seating (no scones)
$20 for 12 & under ground floor seating & scones

Join us for our popular tea & scones series, with headliner Jack Pine and scones by Hustle & Bustle Catering.

Jack Pine is an indie-folk lone wolf: a Juno and Canadian Folk Music Awards nominated singer-songwriter playing dynamic and gritty Canadiana with an amplified mandolin and acoustic guitars.

With smouldering intensity, he sings out the beauty of the wreckage and the heart of the wretch. His songs chase an incredulous ray of hope pulled straight from the daydreams of a kind-hearted pre-millennial slacker in a dystopian post-millennial world.

When Jack takes the stage, you can't help but howl and sing along to his wry folk wisdom - at once biting and inspiring - as his mandolin plays furiously then softly. This is alt-folk singer-songery for those who'd rather dance to mandolin rhythms than drum machine beats ...or just sit and dig on some real good tunes for real dark times.

"Jack Pine: The Canadian musician worth ‘pining’ for"
-Suzi Nash - Philadelphia Gay News

"Jack is an incredible live performer with a wonderful energy, and a very engaging style"
-Jan Hall - Folk Roots Radio

Mallory Chipman is an award-winning artist, celebrated for her acrobatic vocals, ear catching melodies, and the expert way she weaves story into song.

Mallory's recent album, Songs to a Wild God, hit #5 on the Folk International Charts, and has been featured on NPR, CBC, and SiriusXM Radio. She has opened for Jann Arden, Madeleine Peyroux, and has sung back-up for the legendary rock band, Heart, but most notably continues to stun with her solo project, described as “profoundly moving” by Celtic Music Radio. With a vast touring history and new album on the way in early 2027, Chipman crafts songs that feel timeless, placing her firmly within the lineage of great storytellers” (Happy Mag Australia), establishing her as an instant classic in the Canadian roots music scene. She takes her time crafting lyrics that are poetic and meaningful, often using unusual rhymes and surprising turns of phrase. Shawna spent years on the road, playing festivals and concert halls, train cars, backyards, and living rooms, supporting her warm voice with intricate fingerstyle guitar accompaniment, and drawing energy from shifting landscapes and long drives through Canada and the United States. Her songs resonate with stories that are relatable, but told in new and unexpected ways. This is music that makes an authentic human connection, that conveys a sense of closeness, of being understood, of feeling less alone. Her latest album, Hurricane Coming, was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award and an Ontario Folk Music Award.

Fritz Lang's German expressionist science fiction masterpiece, Metropolis, with a live improvised score. In a techno-future where the world is starkly divided between the elite and the workers, John Fredersen, a wealthy magnate uses unseemly methods to crush a worker uprising led by the charismatic Maria... who also happens to be the object of desire for his son Feder. Abstract set design, incredible practical effects, and hundreds of extras make Metropolis a dizzying and alluring retro view of the future. Accompanied by some of Halifax's most intriguing musicians and improvisers, this matinee screening of a classic film is not to be missed.
